Getting started
Pyn is where HR teams design and automate the moments that matter in an employee’s time with the company: the first day, a new manager, a work anniversary, a return from leave. You describe each moment once as a flow; Pyn watches your people data and sends the right message to the right person at the right time, in Slack, Microsoft Teams or email.
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”- The Owner or Admin setting Pyn up: start with Set up your workspace in 30 minutes.
- The HR partner who designs messages: start with Launch first-day onboarding end to end.
- Anyone deciding who gets access to what: read Roles and permissions and Plans and what each unlocks.
How a flow works
Section titled “How a flow works”Every automation in Pyn has the same four parts, and every page in Flows is about one of them.
- Trigger: the event that starts the flow for one employee, such as a start date arriving, a manager changing or a form being submitted. A date trigger also sets the reference date the steps are timed from.
- Audience: who is eligible. Lifecycle stages (Current, Joiner, On leave, Terminated) plus included and excluded groups; an exclusion always wins.
- Steps: what happens, in order. Each step has a sender, a recipient (the employee, their manager, their buddy, a group or a channel), a schedule relative to the reference date, and content.
- Enrollment: one employee’s run through the flow. Pyn creates an enrollment when the trigger fires for someone in the audience, schedules every step, and shows the result under Activity as enrollments, messages and actions.
A flow runs in one of three modes. Automated enrols and sends by itself. Verification enrols but pauses each enrollment under Needs Review until someone unpauses it. Manual Only never enrols by itself; you pick people with Manual Enroll. You can also enrol people by hand in any mode, which is how you test a flow on yourself.
