Add to a channel
Channels are where a cohort finds each other. An Add to Channel step invites the employee (or their manager or buddy) to a public Slack channel when they reach that step, so nobody has to remember to add them.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Slack is connected and Add to Channel is enabled for your workspace. If the row is greyed in the Add Step dialog, contact Pyn support.
- The sender you will choose is a member of the channel, since the invitation is issued by that sender.
-
In Pyn, open Flows in the left navigation, select Automations, then the automation.
-
Select Add a step, then Add to Channel under Tasks & Activities.
-
Under Schedule, choose the day and time relative to the reference date.
-
Under From, choose Pyn Bot or a personal Slack sender.
-
Under To, choose who is added: Employee, Buddy, HRBP, Manager or Skip-level Manager.
-
Under Channel, pick the channel from the list of channels the sender can see.
-
Next to Test by adding yourself to a channel:, select Test. Pyn adds you to the chosen channel and shows Test message sent.
-
Select Publish on the automation.
What you should see
