For employees and managers
Your company uses Pyn to send the messages that go with moments in your working life: the week before you start, your first day, a work anniversary, a policy to read, a return from leave. The People team writes the messages and decides when they go out; Pyn delivers them to you by email, Slack or Microsoft Teams at the right moment, and tells the People team whether you acted on them.
You never need a Pyn account for any of this. Everything you are asked to do happens inside the message, or on a page the message links to.
What you might receive
Section titled “What you might receive”| What arrives | Where | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A message with information | Email, Slack or Teams | Read it. Nothing is tracked beyond the fact that it was delivered. |
| A message with a button | Email, Slack or Teams | Select the button to open a link or read a page. If the button asks you to confirm something, selecting it records that you did. See Acknowledge a message. |
| A form or poll | Inside a Slack message, or a button that opens a page | Answer the questions and select Submit. See Answer a form or poll. |
| A link to a longer article | A button in the message | It opens on a reader page; see The reader and respond pages. |
| A calendar invitation | Your Google or Outlook calendar | Accept it as you would any invitation. See Accept a calendar invitation. |
| An invitation to a Slack channel | Slack | You are added to the channel; nothing to do. |
| The same message again | Same channel as the first | A reminder: the People team asked Pyn to follow up until you act. Acting on either copy stops the reminders. |
