Acknowledge a message
A message asks you to confirm something: “I’ve read the handbook”, “My equipment has arrived”, “Read the benefits guide”. The ask is a button inside the message. Selecting it is the acknowledgement; there is nothing else to fill in or send back.
-
Open the message in your email, Slack or Teams.
-
Find the button. In email it is a coloured or outlined button in the body; in Slack it is a Slack button under the text; in Teams it is a button on the card.
-
Select it. One of three things happens, depending on what the People team attached:
- a web page opens, for example a policy on your intranet;
- a reader page opens with an article the People team wrote (see The reader and respond pages);
- a form opens, in which case answer it as described in Answer a form or poll.
-
Read or do what it asks. Selecting the button is what Pyn records; you do not need to come back to the message afterwards.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”The link or page opens. In Slack, the message keeps the button; in Pyn, the People team sees your delivery move to Actioned, and any reminders or escalations attached to it are cancelled.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Answer a form or poll when the button opens questions.
- The reader and respond pages for the pages a button can open.
- Privacy and your data for what “Actioned” means and who sees it.
