A sender is an item in the workspace that a step sends through. Six kinds exist, each tied to an integration or to the email service Pyn runs. This reference lists them with the medium they serve, how they are created and the statuses the Senders view shows.

## Types

| Type | Medium | How it is added | Who can add it | Panel shows |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Verified email sender | Email | **Add > Add Email Sender**, then a verification link to the inbox (valid 24 hours) | Admin | Sender Name, Email, Verified |
| Google Workspace sender | Email | **Add > Add Google Email Sender** (the person signs in to Google) or a Google auth link | The mailbox owner | Sender Name, Email, Hosted Domain |
| Microsoft 365 sender | Email | **Add > Add Microsoft 365 Email Sender** (the person signs in to Microsoft) | The mailbox owner | Sender Name, Email, Tenant |
| Slack user | Slack | **Add > Add Slack Sender** or a Slack auth link | The Slack user | Sender Name, Email, Slack Id, Team Id |
| Pyn Bot and custom Slack bots | Slack | Pyn Bot is created when Slack is installed; a custom bot through **Add custom bot** on the Slack integration | Admin | Slack Id, Team Id |
| Teams user | Teams | Set up with Pyn when the Teams integration is installed | Pyn with you | Sender name, Email |
| Conditional sender | Email, Slack or Teams | **Conditional Senders > Add** | Admin | Name, Medium, Rules |

Senders depend on their integration. Deactivating or archiving the Slack, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 integration stops its senders sending.

## Statuses

| Status | Shown for | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Active** | All | The sender can send. Conditional senders always show Active. |
| **Pending** | Verified email sender | The verification link has not been opened. Use **Send Verification Email** in the **...** menu. |
| **Requires reauth** | Google, Microsoft 365, Slack and Teams senders | The token was revoked or the password changed. The sender's owner opens it and selects **Reconnect**. Shown ahead of any other status. |
| **Error** | All except conditional | The last send failed in a way that needs attention. The row also appears under **Needs Attention 🚨**. |
| **Inactive** | Verified email sender | Deactivated. |

## Actions in the **...** menu

| Action | Senders | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Send Test** / **Test Connection** | All except conditional | Sends a test to you: an email to your inbox, or a Slack direct message. Disabled while the sender is in error or requires reauth. |
| **Send Verification Email** | Verified email sender, until verified | Issues a fresh 24-hour verification link. |
| **Reconnect** | Google, Microsoft 365, Slack user | Starts the sign-in again for the same account. |
| **Refresh Details** | Google Workspace sender | Re-reads the name and address from Google. |
| **Archive** | All except Pyn Bot | Opens the Archive Sender check. See [Archive a sender](https://support.pynhq.com/settings/senders/archive-a-sender/). |
