The Microsoft Teams integration lets a step send a direct message or post to a channel in Teams, from the Pyn app or from a colleague's own Teams account. It is in early access: the tile under **Available** opens a request rather than a sign-in, and Pyn's team installs the Pyn app in your Teams tenant with your administrator and pairs it to your workspace.

## Before you start

- You are an admin or owner in Pyn.
- Your Teams administrator can add the Pyn app to a team in your tenant; the pairing starts from the team the app is installed in.
- Decide which team's channels you want to post to and who should be able to send as themselves.

## Connect

1. In Pyn, open **Settings** in the left navigation, then **Available** under **Integrations**.

2. Find the **Microsoft Teams** tile, marked **Early Access**, and select it.

3. In **Get started with Pyn today**, select **Request Now**. A booking page opens; pick a time, and mention Teams.

4. Pyn's team walks your Teams administrator through installing the Pyn app in a team and pairs that team to your workspace. The integration then appears under **Installed** with the **Tenant Id**, **Bot Id** and **Service URL** on its Details tab.

## What syncs

- Members of the paired team, with display name, email and user principal name, so Pyn can match them to employees by work email. Pyn reconciles the team daily.
- The team's channels, so a step can post to one.
- Senders: the Pyn app itself, and any colleague who connects their own Teams account, listed under **Settings > General > Senders** as a Teams sender.
- Each message is a delivery in [Activity](https://support.pynhq.com/activity/); a bounce is logged as "Delivery bounced" with the cause on the individual delivery.

## Test it

Once the integration shows **Active**, add a Teams step to a test automation in [Automations](https://support.pynhq.com/flows/automations/), enrol yourself and check the message arrives in Teams. Conditional senders also support the Teams medium.

## Reconnect or disconnect

If the app is removed from the team or its credentials stop working, the integration moves to **Needs Attention 🚨** with a notice "The credentials for the Microsoft Teams integration are not valid", and a Teams sender raises "The credentials for the Microsoft Teams sender are not valid". Contact support@pynhq.com to re-pair; **Deactivate** and **Activate** work as for any integration.

## Troubleshooting

| What you see | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| The tile says **Early Access** | Teams is set up with Pyn rather than self-serve. Select the tile and request it. |
| A message to a channel fails | The channel is private, or the Pyn app is not a member of it. Add the app to the channel. |
| Someone is not matched to Teams | Their Teams email differs from the work email in your HRIS. Team membership alone does not create an employee. |
