A property stopped being useful, or you created a demographic from the wrong one. Archiving takes it, and its groups, out of the lists and the audience pickers without deleting anything.

## Steps

1. In Pyn, open **Directory** in the left navigation, then select **All Demographics** under **Customize**.

2. Select the demographic's row to open its panel.

3. Open the panel's actions menu (the **...** button) and select **Archive**. The panel closes.

4. To restore it, show archived rows in the view and open the demographic again; its menu now offers **Unarchive**.

> **Caution:** An automation whose audience includes one of the demographic's groups keeps that reference. Check the audiences of flows that used the groups before you archive, and move them to another group.

## What you should see

The demographic leaves **All Demographics** and its groups leave **Employee Groups**. Unarchiving puts the demographic back; its groups are re-evaluated on the next refresh of employee data.
