One message in a sequence is wrong for one person: the date moved, or the content needs a word changed before it goes. Pausing the step holds it as a **Draft** without touching the rest of the enrollment.

## Steps

1. In Pyn, open **Activity** in the left navigation, then select **All Messages** under **Messages**.

2. Select **Filters**, then **Status**, and tick **Scheduled**.

3. Select the row of the step to hold. It opens on its own page with **Scheduled** in the header.

4. Select **Pause** at the top right. The status changes to **Draft** and the button now reads **Schedule**.

5. When you are ready for it to send, open the step again and select **Schedule**. If its date has passed, it sends straight away.

> **Note:** Pausing a step does not pause the enrollment: its other steps keep their dates. To hold everything, [Stop an enrollment](https://support.pynhq.com/activity/enrollments/stop-an-enrollment/); to hold a whole enrollment before it starts, enrol with Verify Mode and release it from Needs Review.

## What you should see

In **All Messages**, the step reads **Draft** and has no date to send. In the enrollment's panel it is listed with **Draft** too. Once scheduled again it reads **Scheduled** with its date, and the enrollment, if it was paused, moves to **Pending**.
